First Nvidia Tegra 3 Launching With Asus Transformer 2 On November 9

While old news confirms that the first Nvidia Tegra 3 is launching with the 10-inch Asus Eee Pad Transformer 2 tablet, it has recently come to notice that the both the tablet and Nvidia new generation chip are going to arrive on November 9. Though Nvidia hasn’t announced an official date for its release of the first Tegra 3 chip but Asus did for its Transformer 2 tablet which is supposedly run on a Tegra 3 chip. Nvidia’s co-founder and CEO Jen-Hsun Huang has confirmed that the Tegra 3 chip will be officially called Kal-El.

It was previously speculated that the Tegra 3 will be commercially available by the end of  September though that plan was postponed due to technical reasons. Three is already much buzz around the Nvidia’s Tegra 3 because of its claim at fast processing and the quad-core technology it aims to implement. News has also confirmed a fifth companion core for small tasks, which would save the battery, a thoughtful feature considering the tablets and smartphones market. More can be read about that here.
As for the Transformer 2, reports say that the quad-core Tegra 3 chip will clock at 1.3 GHz per core, internal memory varying between 16 to 32 GB. The tablet runs on Google’s Android 4.0 (codenamed Ice Cream Sandwich) operating system. 32 GB of extra storage is provided through the microSD card slot. Other hardware for the 8.3 mm frame include USB port, HDMI port and 14.5 hours of battery.
