DLNA & Wi-Fi Got Married To Make People Happier

The DLNA technology and Wi-Fi Direct technology are both awesome independently. But with the recent marriage between these two technologies is going to make several people happier as it will be easier than ever before to share your electronic devices and stream content from one device to other; without needing special hardware. The uninitiated may want to know that DLNA stands for Digital Network Living Alliance which promises ‘connect & enjoy’ type sharing of devices. Today, the alliance announced that they’ve officially incorporated the Wi-Fi Direct into its interoperability guidelines. What this means is that you will now be able to sharing/streaming movies and videos directly between your smartphone and computer or TV. You won’t have to connect to the existing home network. WiFi DLNA Alliance
Chairman & President of DLNA, Mr. Nidhish Parikh says that it is the logical extension of their alliance with the Wi-Fi Alliance. We are quite impressed by this move. We are already beginning to imagine a future where people won’t have to struggle to get connected to Wi-Fi networks just to deliver their presentation over the Wi-Fi projector or TV. Your phone will directly connect to the projector and you’ll be ready to rock. Impressive, right?
